Holly Greening


Holly Greening’s academic training involved extensive food
web studies in North Florida estuaries, where she received a
MS in Marine Ecology from Florida State University in 1980.
Ms. Greening’s professional career has focused on
implementation and management of watershed and estuarine
projects for state, federal, and private entities. As Senior
Scientist for the Tampa Bay Estuary Program from it’s
inception in 1991 to 2008, she designed and managed over 200
projects in the areas of general aquatic ecology, watershed
management, water quality, atmospheric deposition and toxic
materials management. As Executive Director, Ms. Greening is
responsible for maintaining the strong public and private
partnerships forged through the Estuary Program for the
continuation of the bay’s restoration and recovery.
Ms. Greening has served on the Governing Board of the
Estuarine Research Federation, and three recent National
Research Council Committees on coastal issues, is a member
of the National Academy of Sciences Ocean Studies Board and
the Florida Oceans and Coastal Council.
